Who is Jules?
Born Julian Michael, JULESTHEWULF got his stage name from the 1994 crime film Pulp Fiction. "There's a character in the movie called The Wolf. He's this well-respected seasoned hitman. I kind of identify with him because I'm not a really loud person; I'm laid back, quiet, and I observe but I can go there if I have to" JULES' shares.
JULES' melodic voice and signature R&B-fused Trap style is easily recognizable through his music, but he wasn’t always the singer we globally acknowledge him as. JULES’ career in music started off as a local guitarist in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. "I grew up on the west side of my city, it was good when it was good. Of course, it's like any other hood, there's a lot of talented and smart people down there, but the city will kind of trap you" he shares.
He moved to Atlanta in pursuit of his dreams of playing on the big stage, drawing inspiration from a variety of genres and icons such as Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and John Mayer as well as artists like Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, and Travis Scott.
JULES had been playing instruments for as long as he can remember, taking the guitar seriously at the age of 14. He played for several Neo-Soul artists including Musiq Soulchild and many R&B acts and is currently the lead guitarist for Justin Beiber's "We The Band"
Halfway through the worldwide Purpose World Tour, he began to take up producing records and later decided he wanted to keep some of his beats for himself. Speaking on his transition into an artist, JULES states: “I wanted to live more on the creative side and not just be a hired gun. That turned into me finally building the courage to sing and rap over my own ideas and the rest is history.”
As a member of the industry-shifting, DIY SoundCloud rap class of the mid-2010s, JULESTHEWULF lets his music do the talking as he meshes a unique blend of trap, R&B, and Rock. With 3 unique projects released on all major streaming platforms and more to come.
